Two additional websites that I recommend are: https://www.homefacts.com and http://myneighborhoodupdate.net Home Permit Search Here is a link to check the building permits for any home in El Paso County. Simply type in the address and it will show you all of the building permits on record for any given property. Appreciation Map This is a helpful resource put together by a good friend of mine that shows how much each area of town appreciated from 2019-2024. Some of the data can be a little misleading, so if you have any questions please let me know. Neighborhood Characteristics Explore these insightful maps illustrating the unique characteristics of various neighborhoods in town. They can assist you in determining the most suitable community for your lifestyle. School Information GreatSchools.org is probably the easiest source of information for schools and school ratings. If you have any specific questions about schools or school districts, please let me know and I can point you to additional resources. Short Term Rental Restrictions If you have any interest in using your home as a future Short Term Rental (AirBnb, VRBO), you'll want to make sure that it would qualify for a license if it is within the city limits. This link will walk you through all of the current regulations. You can also email the city directly at shorttermrentals@coloradosprings.gov to see if a property would qualify for a license. Radon In Colorado Colorado Springs and the surrounding areas often have high levels of radon. This is a great resource for information about your options when it comes to radon testing and mitigation. Colorado Metro Districts Metro districts are independent governmental entities formed to finance, design, acquire, install, construct, operate and/or maintain public improvements that are not otherwise being provided. Metro districts can borrow money at lower interest rates, allowing them to build public infrastructure and homes more efficiently and affordably. Property owners within the boundaries of a metro district pay a higher tax that contributes to paying down the debt over time.
